This is horrendous… yet totally believable. I grew up in the same circles and the secrecy and threats not to “air your dirty laundry” lest you “turn people away from the gospel” are palpable?

Have you read the recent release “Pure” by Linda Kay Klein? I think you would find some comfort in it.
