Thanks for sharing, Sanket. I actually wrote this four months ago, and it was just published recently. I too have noticed that some of my more contemplative practices have been replaced with more of the usual busy stuff of life, and I think that's okay. The overall lessons - to make space for gratitude, to let go of things I cannot control, to remind myself how much I have survived, and to appreciate the beauty in small moments and small things - these will always be with me. I love your line about hoping trauma treats me with kindness. I will continue to look for the kindnesses.
