It amazing how much help it is to hear someone you care about say they are worried about you. Survivors don’t always realize they’re in danger - they’re so accustomed to living in chaos. They can empathize for other people (including their abuser), but have so little compassion for themselves. Knowing people they trust feel afraid for them can provide them with a different, healthier perspective.
