Good words, Krystal. I’ve seen too many Christians bogged down by the belief that if they just prayed harder, they’d be cured. But finding relief and healing for mental illness shouldn’t be any different than relief and healing for physical ailments. If you break your arm, you get a sling. If your heart is faulty, you take blood pressure medication. We shouldn’t be shamed for needing a doctor to help us through emotional and mental struggles. Prayer was never meant to be a substitute for medicine and good health practices.
