May the Fires of pressure and protest

and I-cannot-take-any-more-of-this

spreading across our nation

turning property into ash

burning orange against a black sky

churning up clouds of fury and grief

be carried by an ancient Wind

into our open windows

into our living rooms

into our bedrooms

into our nostrils

so that we may all breathe

the same holy Breath

that makes us

One.

Amen.
